About WatermarkNinja

WatermarkNinja removes a mark you paint over — the bouncing TikTok logo and @username, a date stamp burned into an old holiday photo, a shop's logo on a product picture you took yourself. You brush across it, and an inpainting model rebuilds what was behind it.

Who runs it

One person, in the Netherlands, on a machine in a room here that stays on around the clock. Not a company, not a team — when the site is down, the person noticing and the person fixing it are the same person.

It exists because the sensible way to remove a mark is to reconstruct the pixels underneath, and the model that does that is open and free to run. Every site charging a monthly fee for this is charging you for their cloud rental, not for the model. I bought the graphics card once; the ads on this page cover the electricity.

Where the line is

This tool is for marks on material that is yours: your own upload downloaded back from TikTok, your own scan, your own product shot. It is not a way to take someone else's photograph and file the name off — a watermark is often the only thing recording who made a picture, and removing it does not transfer anything. If the photo is not yours, no software here makes it yours.

From marked to clean

The removal runs on our own inpainting model, the same engine behind BGNinja, my background remover. When you press erase, your photo and the mask you painted go to that engine, the background is rebuilt, and the result comes straight back to your browser.
